TRANSPORTATION OF BAGGAGE

1.1. Acceptance of baggage to transportation

1.1.1. The things of the passenger are transported as baggage - registered baggage or hand baggage. Baggage, as a rule, is transported on the same aircraft, on which the passenger follows. On the board of the aircraft of certain types, passengers' belongings are carried only as unregistered baggage.

The list of aircraft, on which things are transported as unregistered baggage, is established by Turkmenistan Airlines OJSC.

The passenger can carry hand baggage (briefcases, hand cases, bags, etc.) in the cabin with him, which is accepted for carriage as a norm for the carriage of free baggage, the total weight of which should not exceed 5 kg, and its maximum dimensions should not exceed 45 x 35 x 15 cm, and in exceptional cases, under the permission of the carrier, also things requiring special precautions when transporting them.

1.1.2. The passenger is obliged to submit for weighing all the things carried, except for the following items:

A handbag or a folder;

Meals for the child in flight;

An umbrella or a cane;

Wheelchair for invalid persons.

1.1.3. The passenger is obliged to take care of the safety of the things transported in the cabin of the aircraft.

In the event of a flight interruption (stopping for a night, a long delay, etc.) in a route, the passenger must take out things carried in the cabin from the aircraft.

1.1.1. Baggage is accepted for transportation on the following terms:

When transported by direct flight without transfers, stops on the way - to the destination of the passenger indicated in the ticket;

When transporting a flight with a transfer, stopping en route - to the airport where the passenger makes a transfer, stop.

1.1.5. Receiving baggage for transportation is certified by issuing a baggage receipt to the passenger. The baggage accepted for carriage is marked with a baggage tag, a tear-off card of which is issued to the passenger. Such baggage is considered registered.

1.1.6. Baggage is accepted for transportation at airports (city terminals) of departure of the passenger.

1.1.7. From the moment of delivery of registered baggage to transportation and until the moment of issuance, the passenger's access to baggage is FORBIDDEN.

1.1.8. The carrier is obliged to take measures to ensure that the baggage of the passenger is sent by the same flight as the passenger.

When buying a ticket, as well as at the transfer airport, the passenger is obliged to agree with the carrier a lot of things that will be presented to them for transportation in excess of the established rate for free of charge transportation.

In the event that it is not possible to transfer baggage by the same flight as a passenger, the carrier is obliged to send it by the next flight, provided that the baggage with a weight corresponding to the established rate of free baggage transportation must be accompanied with the passenger. The baggage to be sent must undergo additional control in the prescribed form.

1.1.9. Registration of unregistered baggage for transportation is certified by issuance to the passenger of the tag "Hand baggage", in which the passenger's surname and whole baggage should be inscribed.

1.1.10.

As the baggage can be transported packages with a weight of not more than 20 kg. The size of each package should not exceed 0.5x0.5x1.0 m. With the carrier's consent (in exceptional cases), baggage seats of a larger weight or larger size may be accepted for carriage.

1.1.11.

At full commercial loading of an aircraft the carrier is entitled to restrict reception or refuse to accept baggage in excess of the established rate for free of charge transportation. The carrier also is entitled to refuse the passenger to transport his belongings, if the weight, dimensions, contents or their packaging do not meet the requirements of these Rules.

1.2. Requirements to the contents of baggage

1.2.1. Not accepted for carriage as a baggage the following items:

a) fire arms and cold steel of all types:

pistols, revolvers, rifles, carbines and other fire arms;

swords, sabers, machete, yataghans, broadswords, falchions, bayonets, daggers, hangers, stilettos, knives: military, landing, Finnish, cleaver, with ejecting blades, locking locks, etc.;

b) explosives and objects filled with them, means of blasting:

Gunpowder, all sorts, in any package and in any quantity;

Ball ammunition (including small-caliber);

Capsules (pistons) hunting and detonators;

Pyrotechnic means: signal and illuminating rockets, landing gears, chimneys, matchmaker matches, Bengal lights, railway firecrackers;

Dynamite, tolite, ammonal, trotyl and other explosives;

c) compressed and liquefied gases: gases for domestic use (butane-propane), etc .;

d) flammable liquids:

acetone;

petrol;

samples of oil products;

menthol;

metal acetate (methyl ether);

brake fluid;

carbon disulfide;

ethers;

ethyl cellosol;

all other flammable liquids;

e) flammable solids:

Substances that produce heat and flammable gases from the action of water on them, which can cause self-ignition and fire: potassium, sodium, calcium, and their alloys, calcium phosphorous, etc.;

Phosphorus white, yellow, red and all other substances classified as flammable solids;

Organic peroxides;

Colloid Nitrocellulose, in granules or flakes, dry or wet, containing less than 25% water or solvent; Colloid Nitrocellulose, in pieces, moist, containing less than 25% alcohol; Dry or wet Nitrocellulose, containing less than 30% of solvent or 20% of water;

f) Toxic and poisonous substances:

Any toxic, potent and poisonous substances in liquid or solid state, packed in any container:

brucine;

nicotine;

strychnine;

tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol;

ethylene glycol;

mercury;

All salts of hydrocyanic acid and cyanide preparations;

Cyclone, cyanfluoride, arsenic anhydrite and all other potent toxic and poisonous substances;

g) caustic and corrosive substances:

Strong inorganic acids: hydrochloric, sulfuric, nitric and other:

Hydrofluoric (fluorohydrogen) acid and other strong acids and corrosive substances;

h) all other substances, goods and items falling under the signs of the substances, goods and items mentioned above, which raise doubts about the safety of their transportation and which can be used for fire setting, explosions or life-threatening for passengers and crew members of aircraft.

1.2.2. For air transportation, only safe liquids that do not have a sharp unpleasant odor can be taken as baggage. Liquids in glass and other broken containers for carriage by baggage are not accepted.

1.2.3. During the flight, passengers are NOT allowed to have firearms and all kinds of cold weapons. As an exception to this rule, passengers accompanying the special cargo and mail, as well as members of the guard accompanying the persons, if there is an appropriate travel document (instruction) can only carry personal weapons.

1.2.1. The arms of other passengers authorized to carry and use them (shooters, athletes, hunters, geologists, etc.) are transported only in a packed form in the baggage compartments, and On the board of the aircraft not having isolated baggage compartments in the technical compartments according to instructions of crew members.

Persons authorized to carry weapons are obliged, when boarding an aircraft, to notify the commander of an aircraft about the availability of weapons and, at the request of the commander or co-pilot, shall submit the document for the right to carry it.

1.2.5. On the board of the aircraft where the passenger's belongings are carried by registered baggage, hunting knives and live ammunition are accepted for carriage only packed in baggage (suitcases, boxes and other containers); while the cartridges should be packed in standard boxes.

On the board of the aircraft where the passenger's belongings are carried by unregistered baggage, hunting knives must be in masks and when boarding an aircraft, they must be handed over to the crew member for the period of the flight. Cartridges are transported in baggage, packed in standard boxes.

1.2.6. It is not allowed to use portable electronic equipment on the board of the aircraft, which can adversely affect the aircraft performance specifications, as well as aircraft systems and equipment. In order to ensure safety, the aircraft crew can at any time ask for the shutdown of personal electronic equipment.

The following devices can be used at any time (unlimited use):

headphones;

digital watch;

electric razors;

The use of the following devices is determined in accordance with the recommendations of the manufacturer of aircraft, and equipment, as well as in accordance with the ICAO Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (Doc 9284 AN / 905) and the Technical Instructions (Regulations) of ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) on dangerous goods of IATA (International Air Transport Association):

equipment to support the work of the heart (pacemakers) and other implanted medical devices

electronic stimulators of the nervous system

personal life support systems and pagers (receivers only).

it is prohibited to use any powerful emitters (emitters) on the board of the aircraft, including the following devices:

mobile (cellular) phones, except when the aircraft is parked with open doors and is not refueled.

two-way transmitters, such as portable walkie-talkies, amateur radios and radios with a range of frequencies for service communication, mill hertz transmitters, radio transmitters, other radio equipment;

devices intended to radiate radio frequency energy by certain frequencies;

peripherals for computers or games connected by cable;

am/fm radio receivers (amplitude / frequency modulation).

these devices are accepted for transportation only in packaged form.

 

When the aircraft doors are closed, during taxiing, take-off, initial climb, descent or landing, all portable electronic devices, including the equipment listed below and with the exception of those that are accepted without restrictions, must be switched off:

personal computers

peripheral devices for a personal computer

personal computers with games

high-frequency transceivers-scanners

digital cassette player / sound recorder

cd player

dvd player (dvd).

vcr / playback systems

calculators

gps systems (global satellite navigation and positioning system).

Binoculars, radio equipment, photo, video and film equipment are accepted for transportation only in a packed form. Passengers are not allowed to carry these items and use them while they are on the board of the aircraft. As an exception, it is allowed to carry a film camera without the right to use it during the flight to photo correspondents of central and regional newspapers, magazines, radio and television, the next on a business trip.

1.2.7. Jewels, money and documents a passenger must carry with him, not putting them in the baggage.

1.2.8. Fragile and delicate items requiring special precautions during transportation or special storage conditions (small portable tape recorders, radios, televisions, crystal products, etc.) may be transported by a passenger in the cabin of the aircraft, upon agreement with the carrier, provided they are required to be presented to Inspection. For transportation as baggage, these items are accepted only with declared value.

1.2.9. Vegetables and fruits, melons over 5 kg are accepted for transportation only as baggage, packed in containers suitable for transportation.

1.2.10.

Dogs, small pets, birds are accepted for transportation only with the preliminary agreement of the carrier and with the permission of the veterinary supervision authorities for their export and importation. Transported in the passenger cabin dogs should be kept on a leash with a muzzle. Small pets are transported in boxes, baskets or in cages.

For transportation of animals, a separate fee is charged, established by the rules for the application of fares. The exception is the guide dogs accompanying the blind persons.

1.2.11.

Refrigerators, washing machines, foot sewing machines, motorcycles, motor scooters, mopeds, bicycles, sports and hunting boats, motors to them, tires, bulky mechanisms, equipment, appliances, spare parts, musical instruments, carpets, skis, etc., as well as other large-sized items (except for TV sets, tape recorders and radio receivers), with dimensions exceed 0,5x0,5x1,0 m, as a rule, are accepted from passengers for transportation as cargo. However, the carrier, if possible, can take these things as baggage. The transportation of these things is paid by passengers in accordance with the rules for the application of fares.

1.2.12.

Televisions, tape recorders and radios are accepted for carriage as baggage in a separate package. For their transportation at a weight exceeding the rate established by the rules for the application of fares, a lump-sum fee is charged for the actual weight of each seat.

1.2.13.

The passenger is responsible for transportation in the baggage of items prohibited for transportation or handed over without observing the special conditions of carriage established by these Rules.

Acts are drawn up about all cases of violations. Things prohibited for transportation are transferred to the appropriate state authorities or destroyed.

1.3. Baggage packing

1.3.1. Things transported as baggage must be packed in suitcases, bags, bundles and other similar containers that have carrying handles. Boxes, cartons, baskets must be tied and adapted for carrying. Locks should be serviceable and locked. Covers, bottoms and walls should be without cracks and tightly fitted. Ropes or belts should be strong and without knots.

Suitcases, bags, briefcases, baskets that do not have locks must be specially packaged.

Packing of places to be checked into baggage must ensure the safety of the contents during normal handling in carrying out of all operations during transportation.

1.3.2. Each package to be checked into the baggage must have a separate package. The connection in one place of two or more things having separate packages, including binding to the suitcases of convolutions, is FORBIDDEN.

Items packed in household nets are not accepted for transportation as registered baggage. Their transportation can be carried out with the permission of the carrier only together with the passenger in the cabin.

1.3.3. Baggage, in the package of which there are sharp protruding objects (nails, ends of edging metal bands, wires, etc.), as well as baggage in a faulty package, is FORBIDDEN for transportation.

1.4 Free of charge baggage allowance

1.4.1. The norm of free baggage transportation is established depending on the type of aircraft in accordance with the rules, instructions and orders of Turkmenistan Airlines OJSC.

1.4.2. The right to carry baggage free of charge within the established norms is granted to every adult passenger (including those who have preferential, free and service tickets), as well as to a child transported on a children's ticket. A passenger carrying a child free of charge is not entitled to a free baggage allowance for the child.

1.4.3. The rules for free baggage transportation do not apply:

to the things of the passenger, regardless of their name and designation, the dimensions of which in the packed form exceed the dimensions of 0.5x0.5x1.0 m;

to the things of passengers, suitcases, bags, boxes, regardless of their name and designation with a weight of one seat more than 30 kg;

to flowers, plant seedlings, food greens (green onions, parsley, sorrel, dill, spinach, coriander, reich, etc.), dried plants (in packaging), branches of tre
